Calibration of a collinear backscattering Mueller matrix imaging system

چکیده
A collinear backscattering Mueller matrix (CBMM) imaging system has clear advantages in the detection of bulk biological tissues, which are highly scattering and depolarizing. Due to double-pass configuration noise system, calibration a is usually complex poor accuracy. In this work, we propose an alternative modified eigenvalue method (ECM) based on equivalent standard sample. For better suppression higher accuracy, design distribution polarization states over Poincaré sphere solve for parameters samples by means optimization. Compared other variants used accuracy proposed improved more than 40 times. The comparison results with error model-based methods indicate that generally gives best precision, as well reliability.

Mapping local orientation of aligned fibrous scatterers for cancerous tissues using backscattering Mueller matrix imaging.
Polarization measurements are sensitive to the microstructure of tissues and can be used to detect pathological changes. Many tissues contain anisotropic fibrous structures. We obtain the local orientation of aligned fibrous scatterers using different groups of the backscattering Mueller matrix elements. Experiments on concentrically well-aligned silk fibers and unstained human papillary thyroi...
متن کاملSnapshot retinal imaging Mueller matrix polarimeter
Early diagnosis of glaucoma, which is a leading cause for visual impairment, is critical for successful treatment. It has been shown that Imaging polarimetry has advantages in early detection of structural changes in the retina. Here, we theoretically and experimentally present a snapshot Mueller Matrix Polarimeter fundus camera, which has the potential to record the polarization-altering chara...
متن کاملMueller Matrix Imaging Polarimeter for UV Metrology
The University of Arizona Polarization Laboratory with support from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has assembled and is currently calibrating a UV Mueller matrix imaging polarmeter (UV-MMIP). The desire for more accurate polarimetric and radiometric sensors drives the need for stringent polarization requirements and the ability to more precisely measure system and component polarization be...
متن کاملMeasurement and calculation of the two-dimensional backscattering Mueller matrix of a turbid medium.
We present both experimental and Monte Carlo-based simulation results for the diffusely backscattered intensity patterns that arise from illumination of a turbid medium with a polarized laser beam. A numerical method that allows the calculation of all 16 elements of the two-dimensional Muller matrix is used; moreover, it is shown that only seven matrix elements are independent. To validate our ...

In our recent Letter,(1) several typographical errors were present. On p. 487, in Fig. 2, the equations for the following Mueller matrix elements should read as S(14) = (RO - LO), S(22) = (HH + VV) - (HV + VH), S(23) = (PH + MV) - (PV + MH), S(24) = (RH + LV) - (RV + LH), S(32) = (HP + VM) - (HM + VP), S(33) = (PP + MM) - (PM + MP), S(34) = (RP + LM) - (RM + LP), S(41) = (OR + OL), S(42) = (HR ...
